Why 2026 matters. Three things.

The 18th edition lands at a turning point for Guyanese thoroughbred racing.

The Nomination Series (NEW for 2026)

Four nomination race days across Port Mourant Turf Club and Bush Lot United (Feb 1, Apr 5, May 3, Jul 5). Top-2 finishers in each nomination race qualify for the corresponding Guyana Cup feature. Winners on Feb 1 and Apr 5 earn 100% free entry to the final. Trainer + jockey bonuses of G$500K apply for qualifying two horses in one category.

Caribbean's biggest purse

The 2025 edition broke the regional record with a G$50M+ combined card. The five 2026 feature races alone total G$46,375,000 — and JJTRC are expected to publish a full 11-race card exceeding 2025's record.

Guyana's international moment

Harrow, owned by One Guyana Racing Stable, won the 42nd Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Cup in 2025 — Guyana's first-ever win in the Caribbean's premier thoroughbred prize. Olympic Kremlin, the 16th Guyana Cup winner (2024) and 2024 Horse of the Year, anchors a Rising Sun pipeline now feeding the regional circuit.

Official poster + promo video. Coming soon.

JJTRC publishes the official Guyana Cup flyer and promo reel approximately six to eight weeks before race day — expect them to land in late June or early July 2026. We'll add the verified artwork + promo here as soon as they release, with source attribution back to the JJTRC channels.

Tickets & VVIP village

The 2025 edition offered tiered admission with private cabanas + a 360° grand stage in the VVIP village. The 2026 ticket tiers have not yet been published — JJTRC typically announces 6–8 weeks pre-race. Watch the channels above.

2025 result

Dataman (Master Zed Racing Stables) won the 17th Guyana Cup on August 17, 2025, beating Anthem King in a dramatic floodlit finish. The day was marked by the loss of a jockey — racing tributes followed.
