Guyana VisaWho needs one + how to apply.
Guyana welcomes visitors from 120+ countries visa-free for tourist stays. Some travellers need an e-Visa or visa-on-arrival, others a business or student permit. Here's the short version — with links to the full breakdown.
The essentials.
Who DOES need a visa?
Citizens of countries not on Guyana's visa-free list, plus anyone visiting for business / work / study (regardless of nationality). The visa-free list mostly covers the Americas, EU/EEA, UK, Commonwealth, and select Asia-Pacific. If you're a US, UK, EU, Canadian or CARICOM citizen tourist, you typically do not need a visa for short stays.
Who does NOT need a visa?
Most CARICOM citizens, US, UK, EU, Canadian, Australian, NZ, Japanese, South Korean travellers, and many more. Tourist visa-free stays are typically 30–90 days depending on nationality (verify with your embassy + your airline before flying).
How to apply
Apply online via the official e-Visa portal: eservices.iss.gov.gy · Allow 5-10 business days · Have your passport (6+ months validity), return ticket, accommodation booking, and any sponsor / invitation letter ready.
What to bring at the airport
Even visa-free travellers should carry: passport (6+ months validity), onward ticket, accommodation booking, proof of yellow fever vaccination if arriving from a yellow-fever country, and enough funds for your stay.
