In this guide
"Eco-lodge" in Guyana usually means a small, generator-powered lodge in remote terrain — rainforest canopy, river bank, or savannah — where the nightly rate covers meals and at least one guided activity per day. This isn't luxury; it's structured rusticity with extraordinary access to wildlife and indigenous culture.
Below: every Guyana eco-lodge for which we could pin a current 2026 rate to the lodge's own website on May 28, 2026.
Rainforest lodges
Iwokrama River Lodge — Essequibo River
| Room | USD per night | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Cabin Single | $180 | En-suite bath, river view. Excludes $15 Iwokrama Conservation Fee + meals (Breakfast $17 / Lunch $30 / Dinner $30). CARICOM citizens: 20% off accom + tours. Non-CARICOM: 30% off accommodation-only May 1–Aug 31. Source: iwokramariverlodge.com/rates |
| Cabin Double | $230 | |
| Cabin Triple | $280 | |
| Research Building Single | $70 |
Iwokrama is unusual among Guyana eco-lodges because meals are charged separately. Most other lodges roll meals into the nightly rate. Budget approximately $77 per person per day in meals on top of the cabin rate. Day tours from the lodge (Canopy Walkway, caiman night spotting) are priced per group; see the lodge's rates page.
Atta Rainforest Lodge — Iwokrama belt
Savannah lodges (Rupununi)
Rock View Lodge — Annai
| Occupancy | USD per night (all-inclusive) | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Single | $160 | Meals + accom, tour guide, afternoon tea, evening drinks, pool, laundry, birding, orientation tour, fish pond feeding, cashew roasting, Panorama Mountain trail walk Source: rockviewlodge.com/rates |
| Double (per room) | $270 | |
| Triple (per room) | $320 |
Rock View also publishes a community/standard rate tier in GYD (Single G$8,000 / Double G$12,000 / Triple G$15,000, ~US$38 / $57 / $72) for non-international guests. Don't confuse the two pricing tiers — the USD all-inclusive is what most foreign visitors will book.
Karanambu Lodge — Northern Rupununi
Community-run lodges
Surama Eco-Lodge — package-based
Surama is community-owned by the village of Surama and sells experience packages rather than nightly rates. Per-person prices below assume a group of 10; smaller groups pay more.
| Package | Duration | USD pp |
|---|---|---|
| Surama Sampler | 2 days / 1 night | $290 |
| Mountain & River Experience | 3 days / 2 nights | $440 |
| Surama Nature Tour | 4 days / 3 nights | $648 |
| Surama In Depth | 6 days / 5 nights | $877 |

Extras you'll pay on top
- Iwokrama Conservation Fee — $15 per stay (Iwokrama River Lodge only).
- Kaieteur National Park Pass — G$3,000 (~$14.35) if you fly to the falls on a separate day-tour.
- Inter-lodge transfers — most lodges aren't walking-distance from each other. Cessna charter sectors range US$200–$500 per leg per person depending on group size.
- Alcohol — most "all-inclusive" rates include a welcome drink or wine with dinner, but not full bar.
Discounts and seasonal pricing
- Iwokrama: CARICOM citizens 20% off accom + tours; non-CARICOM 30% off accom-only May 1–Aug 31.
- Karanambu: 5% off for stays of 5+ nights.
- Surama: rates scale by group size — fewer than 10 in your group means higher per-person rate.
- Wet season (May–Sep): generally negotiable rates region-wide, but some lodges access becomes river-only.

Rupununi Safari Cost →How we verified these prices
Every USD rate above was pulled directly from each lodge's own website on May 28, 2026. We did not use TripAdvisor, Booking.com, or other aggregator rates as primary sources — they cache stale figures and apply commission markups. For lodges that don't publish public rates (Karanambu, Atta), we said so plainly rather than guess. If you spot a changed price, email us and we'll re-verify within 48 hours.
